I am looking for a really good computer repair shop to fix my laptop. I study in Clayton, and i don't want to go too far to fix it. I ask this question because i have a really bad experience to fix my computer in a random chosen shop. That shop is called cxxlyah/heroxxx computers near the Clayton train station. I fixed my laptop in there one and half year ago, it was a blue screen problem because of overheating.
It works fine until last 3 months, the problem came back again, i took to the shop again, however, the boy Izzac who fixed my laptop is no longer work in the shop. And i discussed my problem with a Vietnamese worker in the shop, he said the bluescreen is a system error, reloading the system is a only solution to fix my laptop. So, i payed him to fix for me. After a several days, i got it back with no problems, but all my program are gone, i had to set them up again. Unfortunately, after i installed some programs, it was a blue screen again. I had to take it back, they charged me and reloaded the system again. This time i was not happy, the Vietnamese worker was so rude and didn't care what i said, he just explained again and again the second blue screen is my fault. I am not a professional, so i trusted him again. When i took it back, i didn't install anything. I watched youtube about 3 hours, my laptop is blue screen again and again. i still believe my laptop is overheated, not system error.
I really need my laptop to work on my assignment asap, but i don't know any repair shop nearby me. if someone knows about that boy in the shop or a good repair shop to fix overheating ,please give me a answer in below. Thank you so much

I has repaired a lot of computers on-site in South-East Melbourne(Clayton, Oakleigh, Springvale etc) for 1 year. And i have 5 years experience in China.

What i heard from my customers, i concluded that the one in Clayton and another one in Springvale is the worst repair shops in South-East Melbourne. So, you are better not spending any more on them. I have re-fixed almost 3x computers from their ex-customers.

One of my customers changed his laptop screen in the Clayton shop on Feb, because of colour screen, but his screen went blank somehow. I took the screen off, and i found out that they changed a bad quality brand of screen but they charged expensive price on him. After i replaced a new screen to him, and testing the screen and cable, i found out the cable is slight broken, so the color screen came out sometimes, there is nothing to do with the screen.

Sometime, i am sad that their computer repaired so bad like this case,I always told my customer to call consumer affair, i don't really know why these kind of shop still be alive in Australia. Do they need a certificate of electronic engineering to be a technician?

Your laptop is having overheat problem.

if you want a on-site service, you can email me for appointment. ZhangYi1979@sina.com.cn

if you do not want on-site, this repair shop is near Clayton, they did a really good jobs on repairing laptop. I usually buy laptop parts from them too.

if you are saying the internet cafe shop, i was the old customer. And what i know is their repair and internet service are turning badly since the end of 2011.

Well...this cafe should not be deserved as a repair shop anymore, since all their good workers has left. The Vietnamese worker in the cafe now is a non-professional technician. As i see, he was used to work with the previous owner to repair small problem, he didn't know how to repair the serious problem in computer. I suspected he doesn't have certification too. Guess what, i took my laptop to him last time. I said i want a virus removal, he suggested me to do a system reinstall. Then i took my laptop and run away.

You know, it's hilarious. Everyone can reinstall the system, why do i pay for him to do it, and the problem is virus not something else.

So, i went up to center road, i think in front of the KFC shop, there is a computer repair shop(i forgot the name), and i fixed my laptop there with no data/program loss.

About the boy, i cant remember who is he, because many boys worked in there. And even i know who he is, I think he was back to China already because they both are overseas student.

Try the one in center road, hope it will help you to fix your laptop.

WOW! You have bought an expensive Dell. My Dell laptop was $800 w/o Warranty. I think there might be some truth to the idea of the repair shops being crooks who take out the expensive stuff inside the computer & replace it. It happened to me when I was in Germany. I am in the US and use a Dell at the moment. I have had this for three years & with the warranty intact, the Dell people always come over to my place & fix it themselves...if there are hardware problems or they fix it up online in case of software ones. The warranty has been worth the money since I am so useless when it comes to fixing laptop problems. Now I want to buy an Apple...but I will make sure it runs with the warranty since I will be traveling to Europe for work reasons & I want the Apple store to fix its problems if they appear. Anyway in your case, I would go to the Dell website & try to get some help online first. And maybe they can fix it & if not they can give you tips on where to get help. Good Luck

Try to fix it in some big company in Melbourne CBD or the manufacturer.

I worked in a repair shop for 4 years. There are 1 full-time, 2 part-time and 1 causal in the shop. No one has certificate on repairing. We got hired because we like computer, we know how to reformat and we know how to build a computer. Boss runs the business by two rule,

1,hardware problem = replace the hardware = fixed.

2,software problem = format&reload = fixed.

By this two rule, no computer cant be fixed. I know it sounds horrible, but this is business.

In my 4 years experience, your laptop is definitely GPU overheating, only rookie will think it is a software problem. I suggested you to fix it by the manufacturer and ask for a report to prove the problem on your laptop, and take it back to the rookie to get a full refunds.

Affectionately named "Marvellous Melbourne" throughout the silver hurry of the 1850s, the title continues to be used today for Australia's next biggest town Melbourne, an area as possible visited with hotelbye . Located on the banks of the Yarra River, close to the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne is a modern area steeped in history. With vast wealth generated from the nearby goldfields, majestic structures were created throughout the city. Many of these houses still stand today, and Melbourne is regarded as having more samples of Victorian architecture than any other town in Australia. One place you cannot skip in your visit to Melbourne is the Southbank and Arts Centre Melbourne. Located on the banks of the Yarra River this region is a culturally wealthy attraction for visitors. Southbank promenade is full of indoor/outdoor cafés, restaurants, and live entertainment. Simply recognizable by its spire, the Arts Centre features a variety of theaters and places like the State Theatre, Playhouse, Fairfax Theatre, and Hamer Hall, the premier efficiency space for the recognized Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
