I have a Toshiba laptop. It's fairly new (6 months maybe) and it won't type question marks, quotations, or the at symbol, as well as some other things. On those keys there is another letter written in red. when I press shift and make a question mark it instead makes a É. I don't know how to fix it. I think maybe I have some kind of lock on, I don't know. Any help, P.S. I already tried playing with mun lock

Sounds like you may have the wrong keyboard layout selected.

In Windows XP:

1. Click the Start->Control Panel menu item.

2. Click Date, Time, Language and Regional Options.

3. Click Add Other Languages.

4. Click the Details button.

5. If the language you want isn’t in the list, use the Add button to add it.

6. Click on a language you want to delete and click the Remove button to get rid of it. Repeat as necessary.

In Windows Vista, possibly Windows 7:

1. Click the Start->Control Panel item.

2. Under Clock, Language and Region, click Change Keyboards or other Input methods.

3. Click the Change Keyboard button.

4. Continue with Step 5, above.

Hope that helps.

Your keyboard language isn't set properly. You may have a toolbar that shows two letters hiding somewhere on your desktop, and you can change the language with this. However, the easiest way to do it is like so:

control panel-->clock language and region---->region and language ---> change keyboards or other input methods---->keyboards and languages--->change keyboards--->Find the non-english keyboard you have enabled, click it, and click remove.

That should fix your problem for good. Note: if that's your only one, go add, and find an english us keyboard layout. Then go to remove the other one.

in case you have ms observe or comparable observe processor use the insert image function if your utility does not have this selection you need to use the prolonged ascii table on the backside of the website related under. carry down the alt key and variety the decimal fee of the character you prefer alongside with alt-162 for a 'u' with an accessory mark.

Control Panel/Region and Language isn't set to your version (US/UK) of English.
