Every time I try to contact somebody?

My browser (Safari and Internet Explorer) says that Windows doesn't recognize internet addresses starting with "mailto:". What can I do? Can I just use that email address for the send to in yahoo? Or do I specifically have to use their link?

I'm trying to contact the webmasters at downeyunlimited.com for access to pictures and wallpapers. It even does it on college websites I try to apply for.

The mailto: link is a type of link that websites usually add to allow people to email them easier. When someone clicks on the mailto link, it opens the default email program (like Outlook or Thunderbird) but if you don't have any mail clients installed, you'll get that error.

Just remove the "mailto:" bit and you can just manually copy and paste this into your email's recipient field. In your case, you'd just send the email to webmasters@downeyunlimited.com

Hope that helped.

A mailto: link runs your default email program. If you use your web browser to handle email on a website, and don't have an email program, the mailto: link doesn't do anything. If you right-click the mailto: link, then copy, you can paste it into your email TO address space. (You can type it by hand - the address in the mailto: link is the correct one, but it's easier to copy and paste.)

you dont have to use "their" link at all. all that matters is as long as the email address is shown. if u can see " whatever@domain."com/net/etc.", you can simply put that into the "send to" part in your yahoo if that's what you use. so all you would need to do is just put the email address of whoever you want to contact in the "send to" part of any email client. the "mailto" if I remember uses outlook express to send messages when you click email addresses in Internet Explorer. if it's causing you some error then just use your personal email client instead.

Hi there. ;-)

Take a deep breath and exhaled through your mouth slowly.

We use eight - 8 - FREE browsers. NOT one of them is IE.

We use:

Camino

Chrome

Firefox

Flock

Netscape (who upset Microsoft so upset they gave away IE. They knew nobody would pay $29 to $39 for it. They did for Netscape. Two years before Bill Gates III even noticed the Internet!

Opera

Safari

Sea Monkey

If something has a hard time (like TCFExpressBank HATES Firefox) I just open two others.

Say: Camino, Chrome and Flock. They usually display EVERYTHING just great.

Camino AND Google Chrome just loaded the Website beautifully! Get them for free, and pop open the website! ♥
