I recently purchased a Laptop and it has Microsoft Word 2007. I really don't like it as it is too complicated. Does anyone know from where I download for free Microsoft Word 2003, because my laptop doesn't has a CD drive?
Thanks

You can't because Word 2003 is discontinued; however, http://openoffice.org is nearly identical to Office 2003, and is compatible with all versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point (including 2007). It's a free download.
Also, Word 2007 isn't as complicated as it first looks. Typically, the ribbon's tabs parallel the menus that it used to have.

Hi there,
Microsoft Word 2003 is not free but you can download and install three good substitutes:
1. Abiword http://www.abisource.com/ just as good as word but also can export in PDF format too.
2. Jarte http://www.jarte.com/ another good word processor ...based upon wordpad but more features.
3. Open Office http://www.openoffice.org/ a very good office suite very much like MS Office but free open source applications.
Since you already have Word 2007 I would suggest you use it and become familiar with it.
If you get a job in an office they will probably be using word 2007 (or word 2010) and already knowing how will be a big help. Become proficient in Excel also it's a great program and many offices use it. Powerpoint is another program that is almost universal. You will be far ahead of most job applicants.
Hope this helps,
Al

Well MS Word 2007 is not actually difficult it'll become more easy once you start using it..
Actually after using it for a week you'll start hating older versions.
Since time changes I suggest you should learn to use /adapt with changing trends.
Anyway there is no legal way to download MS Word for free.
I don't think you'll find place to buy old softwares on net.Try some online shopping sites.
Or probably borrow a copy from someone who is not using 2003 & has a CD.Ask him to transfer it to a Pendrive & you could install it,

Doesn't the laptop come with software to allow you to connect to another PC to install things using it's disc drive? Netbooks have these.
You simply run the software after the 2 computers are connected, and install thing that way. It simply bridges the drive.
Open office is mostly compatable. However, it has a lot of trouble with Word macro fillable documents. It involves a tendious conversion process that is not very accurate.

If you want Office free, you can get their latest version at the Official Office website!
