I've been having problems with Virtualbox...My host computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium, and my guest computer is running Windows XP Professional. My problem is, I'm trying to connect a USB printer, and whenever I plug in the printer, the host computer detects the printer, but the guest computer does not. Instead, the guest computer recognizes the printer as an "ASUS 2.0 Webcam". If I'm under the USB devices tab in Virtualbox, and I unplug the printer, Virtualbox will re-identify the printer as "unknown device", followed by long series of numbers and letters. I'm new to Virtualbox, so any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried installing the driver in the guest machine? Are you sure that you've chosen the correct USB device and any sub-devices it might have to assign to the guest machine? Sometimes with Virtualbox it gets it right after you shut down Virtualbox and then restart it, followed by rebooting the guest machine of course

It may be worth installing the printer drivers in your guest without the printer plugged in, then try plugging it in after installation.

You have to install the drivers for the printer on the virtual machine. If your printer came with a disk, insert it and run it on the virtual machine.

With VirtualBox, you can install any version of an operating system, such as Linux, Solaris, and other versions of Windows and run them within your current version of Windows!
