Question:
Domain Name Registration?
2008-01-04 22:41:48 UTC
1. Is it safe to register my domain name with WebsitePalace.com? Have you have tried their services before? what can you say?

2. If the registration of a domain name expires - what happens to the domain name? What is domain name transfer? is it possible to transfer the domain name from current registrar to ANOTHER registrar even if it still within the subcription time?

I have an existing domain name with another registrar, but this current registrar don't want to release the domain name so I can't register it with another registrar what should I do?

If the domain name registration expires what will happen to the domain name? will I be able to use it? If expirty is the answer to getting my domain name back - how will I know that I can use the domain name again? where will I look to see that the domain name is available?

3. If I register my domain name with WebsitePalace.com will there be google ads appearing on my website?

4. What is private registration of domain name?

WebsitePalace.com appears to be a reseller for GoDaddy so you should be OK. If you are concerned deal directly with GoDaddy .

If a domain name expires it goes through the expiration process and in about 65 days it becomes available again.

Yes it's possible to transfer the domain name to another registrar.

Read your terms of service with your current registrar and make sure you own the name. If it was a free name the registrar might have rights to it. If not, and you own the name they must provide you the information to transfer the name. If they refuse you can report them ICANN.

As far as the Google ads it depends on how you develop your website. If you use a free hosting service there is probably going to be ads of some type. If you pay a couple bucks for hosting you won't have the ads.

Private registration keeps your registration information private in the whois listings.

1. I do not know any knowledge whether it is safe to deal with websitepalace.com for domain name registration. You should do some research on that company.

2. Usually, your registrar will keep that domain name. Some domain name mafias will hold your domain and ask for a high price when you want it back. Domain name transfer means you can transfer your domain from registrar X to registrar Y. You are supposed to be able to switch to another registrar at any time. To check whether a domain name is available for you to use, you must perform a `whois` on the desired domain name (you can use the tool from http://www.internic.net/whois.html). If the domain name is taken, you'll be presented with the information of the domain name (the registrar information, the expiry information, etc.)

3. Google Ads is on demand service. To show ads from Google on your web site, you must subscribe to Google's service. You'll be given an account and tools to show ads on your web site. People are usually doing this to generate extra revenue.

4. I have no idea what you are talking about. :)

UPDATE

I've just do some search about private registration. You may want to treat yourself to some reading regarding that issue. The following is the link: http://www.domainregister.com/private-registration.html

Never heard of websitepalace.

You can always transfer the domain elsewhere, 60 days after registration. Often companies take your money and register the domain in their own name.

Check if you really own the domain name at

http://domains.nkuw.com/domain.php?action=whois

If you pay for it, there should be no Google Ads. Private registration is risky if you are not directly registering the domain name.
