Error Deleting File or Folder > Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk?

Hi,

I've problem removing folders in my removable disk.
When I tried to remove the folders, I got this error:
Error subject: "Error Deleting File or Folder"
Error message: "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or folder"

I tried use command "rd" and "rmdir" in command prompt but still can't remove the folders.
Is there any way to remove the folders safely without reformat the removable disk or use a freeware?

Here is a link to a free app that should solve your problem. It may require a restart to remove them before they load but it's never failed (me anyway)

try fixing the drive.

Right click, and do an error check , choosing to fix any corrupt files. If those files happen to be the ones you want to delete, great. If not, your removable disk is probably going bad.



Another option is to copy all the files to your desktop, and then format the removable drive. Meanwhile, you can then remove whatever data you want to, and reinstall what you do want back to the removable drive.

Go to a command prompt. Go to your desktop directory. Delete the file. The command prompt sometimes gives better error messages.
