you might consider booting up on a flash drive. the problem might also be the dvd drive. some dvds wouldnt work on DOS. if you tried several discs in that drive, it's the drive. check in your bios settings if its detected. there should be an option there that lest you see all the connected equipment through SATA/IDE.

See if your computer has a boot selection menu. According to a forum I read, you hold down the F12 function key during startup, but depending on your computer it may be a different function key. You should be able to boot from the CD/DVD drive from there.

As to why it is not working by changing the bios settings, I'm not sure. Unless you forgot to save the new settings after changing them.

It sounds like you might have a bios problem. I would try either checking to see if there is a bios update and install that. If not then I might try resetting the bios to default values then re-changing to boot from disk. You could also try reformatting the HD and inserting the disk after that.

Try removing everything from the boot list except for do dvd drive, that way, it is forced to do it. If you are having more trouble, going to the BIOS manufacturer's website and get more information on how to do it.

Another thing, just in case, make sure you SAVE you BIOS setting before you exit.
