hi all - new to this but saw last night that others were having similar prob - a few having to depress shift + 2 to get @ - solution is : from start to control panel, select date time language region option, select regional and language icon,in regional options make sure english united kingdom is highlighted, click apply, now click on the language tab, then details,if you have english (american)
and english (united kingdom) showing then highlight english (american) and click remove, or , if only english (american) showing ,click add and use drop down menu to select english (united kingdom),click apply, then ok - you will have to restart for changes to take effect
apparently a lot of computers are automatically set to english (american) - hope this helps - let me know if it does - cheers

I don't blame them. If I was depressed, I wouldn't feel much like displaying an @ sign either.

Sending Shift and Character big hugs to cheer them up....

There are several versions of the Roman (alphabet) keyboard, so it is a matter of identifying the one that you have, and setting the KEYB function and codepage function. I expect that Windows has a menu in the INSTALLATION function for this

.

Mine gives me the @ when I key CTRL + ALT and 2 at the same time.

@ = Shift + 2

I'm having a difficult time following your question "answer."

If you are having keyboard problems then go to:

start>programs>accessories>

accessibility>onscreen keyboard.

You should find help there.

Good Luck

click on commence (backside left of your very own computer) and click on administration Panel, and then double-click on nearby and Language innovations. In nearby innovations tab opt for English (uk) and alter area to uk. In Languages tab, click on 'info'. substitute 'Default enter language' to English (uk) - uk. (do no longer question me why it says uk two times.) confirm that throughout 'put in centers' that English (uk) is chosen on your keyboard. In progressed tab, ensure that English (uk) is chosen because of fact the "language to verify the language version of non-Unicode courses you want to apply"
