Okay, so I downloaded " The Sims 2 Complete" from a website and downloaded it on " Utorrent" ( I know it's illegal, let's not act like no one does it.) And now I'm completely lost and have no idea what to do next. I'm horrible with computers, so dumb is down as best as you can. My brother usually does this stuff and he's staying with a friend for a few days. Anything will help. Thank-you.

@@@@@@Check the bottom, I added some more info.@@@@@@

FINDING THE SIMS 2 FOLDER

Ok first you have to find the folder you downloaded the sims 2:

1. Right click on the "Sims 2 Complete" in Utorrent then find browse download directory, or go to folder to view files or something along those lines. KEEP THIS WINDOW OPEN you will need it later.

Installing a mounting program.

1. Go download a program called "UltraISO" from http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/

2. To download click on Free Trial

3. On the next page there will be a chart. Beside English click on the arrow pointing down under Download Site #1.

4. At the next page click on Download Now. Save the file then run it. Just hit Next over and over again until it finishes.

Mounting the ISO for installation

1. Find your sims 2 folder and you should see that the .iso files you downloaded will now have an icon that looks like a disc.

2. Right click on your sims iso, find UltraISO and mouse over it then click mount to drive "your drive letter, ex. E:"

3. From there click on your start menu, the button that says START or the orb with the windows symbol, and click on computer.

4. Look for your Sims 2 under Devices with removable storage. It should have a CD icon and be named appropriately.

5. Double click the Sims 2 CD icon. *You may not have to follow the next step*

6. Now in that folder look for a setup.exe/install.exe/anything that has to setting up or installing.exe. Double click that and you should be able to install it from there.

Cracking the game so you can play it!

1. There may be a crack that comes with the .iso or inside the same folder that you downloaded the iso to. Just look for a folder that says "Crack" or something along those lines first in the folder you downloaded then in the sims 2 disc.

2. If you find one wait until you finish installing Sims 2 and then go to the folder sims 2 installed to. It should be in your computer>Program Files(x86) or just Program Files>Electronic Arts>Sims then just move the crack to the same folder with all the files.

I hope I explained it good enough, if you have any questions just add them on to your question and I'll try my best to answer them.

@@@@@@I'm going to walk you through this a little bit longer way. @@@@@@

1. Go to your start menu then click on "All programs" or if on Windows xp there is no "All Programs"

2. Find UltraISO and mouse over it/click on it.

3. Click on UltraISO

4. A window should come up saying "Register Now 30$" Ignore it and click on "Continue to try..."

5. Now at the very top click on Tools where File, Actions, etc. are on.

6. Click on "Mount to virtual drive..."

7. Leave the top box alone where you choose the location to mount your drive. You should only have one choice.

8. In the box under Image File beside it is a little button with "..." in it. Click on that button.

9. There should be a drop down box at the top of the window that pops up. Click on that box. Find "Local Disc C:, OS C:, My Computer, something like that" and click on it.

10. If your downloads go to the same place as mine on that new window click on the folders in this order: Users>"Your User"(could be your brothers name or your name) > Downloads> Sims 2 Complete.

11. If it is an ISO file you should see it in the window. Click on your sims 2 iso then click on open.

12. Click on Mount

13. Follow the steps in the part above after step 3 in "Mounting and installing the ISO"

If you have any more questions I'm willing to answer.

For basic torrents you normally get a disk image (typically an ISO, though it may be in another format). If you have installed cracked games before, your brother should have also installed a virtual disk mounting program. a few examples are daemon tools, power iso, alcohol 120%, ect. The purpose of this program is to take the disk image and put it on a virtual drive so your computer thinks there is a real DVD sitting in your disk drive. Open the iso in the utility of your choice and mount it to one of these virtual drives. Unless the instructions where you got the torrent say otherwise, proceed to install the game by running the install or autorun executable off of the disk. There may be a cd-key prompt. Most of the time, a key or keygen is supplied. This will either be on the page you got the torrent from, in the same folder as the iso, or on the disk in a folder called crack or the name of the person who created the crack (explore the virtual dvd from the drive it was mounted on, ie my computer --> E drive). To bypass the key prompt, you may also be told to simple cancel or say you want to enter a key later. Everything else in the installer is concurrent with installing a legitimate copy of the game. When you are done, it may be necessary to copy a crack into the install folder (see instructions for torrent). If it is required, the crack is located either on the disk or in the same folder as the iso. Browse for the install directory ie c://program files/"manufacturer"/"game name" and find the file that has the same name as the crack. rename it to get it out of the way, then copy over the crack into its place. If there is anything else that has to be done, the instructions should say so. Otherwise, launch the game. Volia. You are done.

Also, if you get any virus warnings, it is probably a false alarm. This is a scare tactic to cut down on piracy, do not worry if you received the torrent from a trusted source (ie one of the trusted uploaders for pirate bay). If it is a weak torrent and nobody is downloading it, then don't run the game. If could actually be a virus. In any case, use your judgement.

The file you downloaded is probably an ISO file, which you either need to burn to a DVD using software that you can burn an "image" with (like NERO) or you need to have software that can "mount" the image so your operating system sees it as install-able media using software like "Daemon Tools" or "Alcohol 120%."
