I don't believe that Windows Media Player supports burning DVDs, only CDs. You need to buy some alternative software.

Yes, Video DVD use MPEG-2 codec to encode video data and save as VOB file, but most dvd players can't play separate vob files on data dvd disc, most dvd players only play video DVD well that include VOB, IFO and BUP files, so you can't use windows media player to do this, you need to use a right software to convert and burn your movies or videos to a video DVD, don't directly write separate vob files on dvd disc, if you don't know what software is right, you can try RZ DVD Creator, it can directly convert any movies or videos to video DVD and burn to any DVD disc(DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), easy to use, insert a dvd disc into your computer dvd burner drive, then run RZ DVD Creator, directly drag&drop your movie or video into the software, then press START button, you will get a good video DVD from your movies or videos, and then you can play the burned video DVD on your dvd player well. You can google or yahoo search and download RZ DVD Creator, hope it can help you.
