How do I retrieve deleted pictures off the hard drive?

I deleted some pictures by mistake from my Pictures file and I suppose they are permanently stored on the hard drive. Is this true? If so, Can I retrieve them?

I used "001 file recovery" and have recovered files that were deleted a good few years ago. but the longer you wait the harder it will be to recover as file are deleted the icon is removed from windows but the file is still on the disc or drive and with time the file becomes over written. so the sooner you try to recover the better.

You open the recycle bin. It will be there. Select the files and click restore. They will come back to original location. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
