How do i change the file type?

Hey I recorded a video on my phone and want to edit it but its the wrong file type does anyone know how to change the file type its something like 3gpp aand i want to change it so it is compaitable with Windows movie maker!! Please help!

What file type is it now? Look at the end of the filename, is it something-something.wmv, .avi or what?

What you need is a 3GPP converter, it' s a software that changes you're file type with the particular software type(in you're case Windows Movie Maker file types). Let's say you want to change it to AVI, in this case you need a 3GPP to AVI converter. Some of them have more features than others depending on the needs, some of them are free while others are paid.
