I am currently interested in learning how to customize my desktop to fit my liking to a T. I need to know how to do so though. Can anyone help? One of a couple of things I would like to do with suck Is us things out of pictures I have downloaded from the net and take myself and turn them into icons. Any help is majorly appreciated and best answer will get best answer pick

Icons are 16×16 or 32×32 images. All you have to do is save them as .ico files.

Go to http://www.freesoftwareworkshop.com, navigate to the "graphics editing" category and download Pixelformer. It's an awesome program for creating and editing icons. It's also free.

Adjust it to the right size and file format right click the desktop icon and click change icon.
