my sytem display this "NTLDR is missing"?what does it mean?

when i turn on my system w/c is a pentium 4 pc windows xp it displays "NTLDR is missing press any key to continue then pressing a key it says Disk Boot Failure,Insert System Disk & press Enter what is wrong & how can i fix it?
