Sounds like you have section breaks in your document. 2 ways to fix this. First is to delete section breaks. Type f1 and search section break to see how to delete them. Second way is to go to the page that is out of whack and edit the page numbering. Go that page, click the down arrow below page number in the ribbon and click format page number. Now tell it to start at the nubmer it is supposed to be. That will work unless the page nubmers before it change. Then you will have to go back and fix it. Best of luck!

There's probably a section break at page 10 that's starting the page number over at 1. Try this to fix it (Note: This technique will NOT delete the section break):

1. Click somewhere after page 9.

2. Click the Insert tab on the Ribbon.

3. Click the Page Number button in the Header & Footer group.

4. Click Format Page Numbers.

5. Click the Continue from previous section radio button.

6. Click OK.

Hope that helps.
