If you just want to get rid of of the unwanted programs you can open the control panal from the start menu, open Add or Remove Programs and remove the unwanted stuff from there. Just uninstall anything you don't need.

Just go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and remove the programs you do not want.

You could try System Restore (if you are using XP) -



Start > All Programs > Accesories > System Tools, then click on 'System Restore'. Select the earliest date possible and click restore. The computer should do it's own thing for 30 mins or so, and when it loads up, most of the programs will be gone.



This is a much, much cheaper (it's free) and easier option than buying a new copy of Windows.

ive just been given a packard bell pc from a friend hes son had been using it and it has a lot of programs on it that i dont want how do i restore to factory settings without the recovery cds or floppys ive tried all the f keys the f2 gets me into bios but f12 does nowt nor do the others im a pc...

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. The only way to reset your windows password 100% safe is to use a software called Reset Password Pro.



The software allows you to create a boot-disk, that can be made on a CD/DVD or USB stick. The boot-disk can then be inserted into any locked machine, and it's a simple case of pressing reset. Here is their official site: http://www.resetwindowspass.com

EASY go to system restore and choose a restore date as far back as it will let you go........then down load ccleaner and clean all the crap off PC run files and issues clean up.......scan your PC with some anti virus programme....then run your defragmenter and then look in change/delete programmes to see if there are any programmes you don't want still......take your time and enjoy doing it .........don't even think about factory settings unless your pc is messed up......having said that...you may not even need the recovery disks and id he has not got them there is a chance you can still get a copy of the pc if it has not already been used

Some computers have a partition on the hard drive containing the original factory settings so you can restore them without the use of a disk. Most computers do NOT have this facility.

You basicly are wasting your time without the Software CD's

In your case I would probably go out to Wallmart or your local computer store and buy a clean copy of Windows that doesn't have all the added junk that the computer manufactures add to there software. You insert the disc and follow the instructions.

So if you don't have a problem taking your time and reading it will be smooth transition.

First of all forget, System Restore. Second, if the computer has a pre-installed Operating System then do the following. Reboot the computer and as it is rebooting look at the top Right of the screen where you will see a key which may be, F11, F10, F12 or something else. Noprmally it is F10 or F11. Take note of the key and as the computer is rebooting Press the key and follow the onscreen instructions. If this does not work then reboot and Press the key and CTRL together. If that does not work then Press the key and ALT together and in all cases follow the onscreen instructions but, do not tick the box to register.Instead tick the box to register later.

just click f11 when the computer is starting up and keep tapping it till u see the cursor mark in the top left corner or untill it makes a really horrible bleeping sound. then system restore come up

if you have PB easy not le11bz model with windows 8 installed then follow this steps..i also had faced same issue with PB easy not le11bz model with windows 8 french edition laptop



once your windows is loaded press windows key+w it will bring parameter menu

then in search option type recovery...@ left panel you will see list of programs..choose recovery manager..make sure you have connected charger to laptop or else it will give alert and will not proceed further unless you connect your chager...then select format complete plz NB: this will erase everything and make your laptop factory reset. give it some time rest will take about 30-40 Minutes..and your laptop is factory reset but it will erase all files / folder ....





I know in your case it is pc but i believe these steps shall work as it well...
