I installed an old game called Populous: The Beginning (or Populous 3) in my laptop. Everything is working good until when I run it and the game gets with a pink-blurred screen. The game doesn't freeze or something... the only problem is this screen, because I can't almost see anything.
I worked a lot trying to find out what's going on with this and I have a hypothesis that it's because of my DirectX. Then I was on dxdiag.exe (DirectX diagnosis) and I perceived that my DirectX didn't come with DirectDraw, Direct3D and AGP Texture Acceleration. These three options are with the description "Unavailable". I believe that's the problem of my game.
Then I found on Microsoft Download Center this DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displayLang=en , but I'm not sure it can help me, because it says that "The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime provides updates to 9.0c and previous versions of DirectX — the core Windows® technology that drives high-speed multimedia and games on the PC." However, in the end, in Additional Details, it says that "The DirectX end-user installation includes all the latest and previous released DirectX runtime. This includes the bi-monthly D3DX, XInput, and Managed DirectX components."
See that the publishing date of the download is 6/8/2010, in other words, DirectX 11 has ever existed.
Would this help me with my DirectX 11 problem?
Yet, I found a DirectX End-User Runtimes, could this help me as well?
As you see, I'm a stupid when it's about computer, software, hardware etc. So, please help me! I tried a lot around Internet, but nothing helps me!
Thanks in advance!
P.S.: my O.S. is a Windows 7 Ultimate.
