I've tried cressing Ctrl+PrintScreen|SysRq, but if it does actually take a screen shot, where does it go... I can't find it. There's a trick to do it, what is it?

Well, after you press it open up something like Paint and Ctrl+V (paste) it.

Just press the Print Screen | SysRq button. It copies exactly what you see to the clipboard. Then, just open Paint or any image editing program and press CTRL+V to paste it. If you want to take a screenshot of just the current window, press ALT+Print Screen.

When you press Print Screen the screen shot goes into a memory area called the Windows Clipboard. Simply open a picture processing program and do a Ctrl+V (or select Edit/Paste) and the screen shot will appear in the picture program's workspace. Then you can "Save As" a bitmap, .jpg, or whatever.

When you do the Printscreen , it puts a copy in the clipboard. Bring up your notepad, word processing or other software and paste it.
Windows xp handles printscreen and cntl+printscreen the same, you get a copy of your entire desktop, windows and background.

It places the screen shot into your clipboard...
Open Paint (start => run => "mspaint" => ok)
editb => paste
Note: if you want to capture an image for the full screen, press the button alone, if you want to capture the active window only, press +
Enjoy ;)

You don't need to press Ctrl
Print Screen takes a snapshot of the screen and just puts it on the clipboard. From there you can paste it into any app.

Hit Print Scrn; it *Copies* the desktop.
- Then open up Adobe Photoshop or MS Paint (on a PC)
- Then File / New / Enter
- *Paste* into the new file.
Your desktop will appear. You can save and edit it in the graphics program.

Once you have pressed the button, you have placed the screen shot on your CLIPBOARD... in other words, you have to PASTE it somewhere.
Open up any application where you can paste and edit. MS Office programs, photoshop, photodraw... Paint etc.
You can even press PASTE in your email... this should paste the picture.

For Windows it is Alt+Print Screen.
Pops it onto the clipboard and you can then paste it into any photo, art or word processor program.
