Can anyone help me with creating a DVD movie?

I have tried for hours to get a movie file onto a DVD so that it will be playable on the Xbox 360. I have tried the following things:

1) First I tried straight burning the original .avi file to a DVD, but this did not play on the Xbox as it was called a "Mixed Media Disc".

2) Next I converted the .avi to .wmv and tried using windows media connect to stream the .wmv to my xbox, but the video size was small and it lagged way to much.

3) I used the .wmv in Windows Movie Maker to burn it to a DVD. After about an hour or so it was ready and I popped it in. Everything looked perfect until about the 2 minute mark where the picture froze and the time continued on. I assume something went wrong during the encoding for this to happen.

4) I tried using a program called DVD Flick to re-encode the .wmv file. After about another hour it finished, but then I couldn't figure out how to burn it. I found the Video_TS folder where the DVD files were, so I burned this folder to a DVD, however the Xbox did not even read it, despite appearing to be a DVD on my computer.

Does anyone have any ideas... I have wasted a good four hours trying to get this darn thing to work. Any help is appreciated.

Go to Nero's main menu StartSmart and choose to make a DVD. Nero will open an application called Vision, which will convert your AVI video into DVD format.

You should create standard video DVD from your videos, There is an easy way, you cant try RZ DVD Creator, i have used it, it can create
