I have Windows XP SP2.Ever since I changed my video card with a much better one I see this error on start up:CMOS checksum error Defaults loaded. So I go to setup,Standard CMOS settings and see that the time and date are changed to 23 March 2003.WTF!And the time is:0.I just don't get it!So I change them to the actual date and time and save and quit.
The next day exactly the same problem occurs:CMOS checksum error Defaults loaded and the time and date are reset to 23 March 2003.WTF!!!! I keep changing the time and date every time I starup Windows but it just won't listen!
Help me this is a very annoying bug how can I fix this thing?
Note:I have intalled some updates from Windows update maybe that has something to do with this bug.The updates are new I suppose since they scanned my computer for further updating.

Try replacing the CMOS battery (it saves time and other settings when machine is powered off) on your motherboard (shown in the blue box on the lower left of this pic:)

It's probably less than 5 bucks at your local electronics or big box store.

You might want to see if there is a firmware update for your motherboard and / or video card.

Also, it's possible the battery on the motherboard died.

pass administration Panel, and choose "Sounds and Audio units". whilst the window comes up, go with the "Sounds" tab. Scroll all the way down to "initiate domicile windows" and choose a sparkling sound in the backside of the window.

I think its time to change your CMOS battery
