Please help, I been trying for 3 hours to get my webcam to work on this pc.?

Question

I have a webcam that i bought not to long ago and it was working great but today my computer crashed so i went and got another computer and now my webcam is not istalling on this pc. I put the disk and it installed correctly but then when i open my cam it says "camera not detected" I restarted my pc and went to add it manually and this comes out.


The driver for this device are not installed (code 28)to reinstall the driver for this device click reinstall driver.



Then i clicked on the reistall and it says "window was unable to locate a driver for this location"


I been trying for 3 hours and i don't unsderstand because the webcam software installed completly can someone please tell me what that means and how can i get my webcam to work on this pc. Thank You.

Look up a website for the maker of the cam and see if they have downloads for drivers etc. I recently had to to that for my computer's sound when it crapped out on me and luckily that did the trick.

Unplug the webcam. Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall,UNLESS it has a uninstall feature next to it's shortcut,(the one on your desktop, or when you go to Start, All Programs, and there it is). RE-install the SOFTWARE first! It may require you to restart your computer. If it does try shutting it down all the way, wait one minute, start the computer. After Windows has loaded all the way,(all programs, internet connections, etc.), plug the webcam in. Then open, (click) the webcam shortcut, and see if you can get it to turn on. Does this computer have the minimum requirements for the webcam? Do you have the installation instructions still, or the box? If not can you 'google' the web, and see? You may not have enough 'computer' for the webcam.
