I have a template I've created and want to use again. I've saved it as a template, it's all good opening it up but I don't know how to insert it in the same document again. Does anyone know how? Or if this is possible? Basically I just want to insert repeatedly the same template on the same documents.

Thanks in advance for any help given :)

Sounds like you have a piece, perhaps a page, you want multiple times in a document. Copy-and-paste is about your only hope here, as you can only start a fresh document from a template.

Sorry.

Yes, you can reattach a template over and over again. First, you must show the Developer Tab in the ribbon because the template controls are located on that tab. To show it, follow these steps:

1. Click the Office Button.

2. Click Word Options.

3. Under Popular, select Show Developer Tab in the Ribbon.

Click the Developer Tab and look around! There are lots of handy controls on that tab.

To select a new template or reattach the same template, do the following:

1. In the Ribbon in the Template Group, click Document Template. The Templates and Add-Ins dialog box opens.

2. Select the Templates tab.

3. Click Attach.

4. Select a template from the list, or browse to the template you want to use.

5. Click Open.

6. (Optional) Select Automatically Update Document Styles.

7. Click OK.

Now your template is reattached and your styles updated. You can do this over and over again with any of your documents.

This is handy if you have many documents that use the same template, then you change the actual template file and need to update the styles in your other documents.

A Word template is the whole document - it's the font, the paper size/orientation, etc. (You don't insert a template in Word, you open a new document using that template.) If you have one that includes text, tables, etc., you'll have to copy that and repeatedly paste it.

Hello Craig, This type of log file can be simply made by using notepad. Open Notepad and on the first line type .LOG (That is DOT LOG) then press Enter then save and close the file. Each time you open this file a current date and time will be the first thing that is changed each time it is opened on the new line. Be sure to press enter after you log entry is completed, so the next time it is opened, the date/time will be on a line of it's own. Here is a snippit of my log file: .LOG 11:32 PM 8/10/2008 Requests: Jeanne Pruett -- Satin Sheets 11:48 AM 9/20/2008 barry Apples and Oranges Sid Barrett Pink Floyd 2:55 AM 9/21/2008 Dr. Rob Hope this helps d.tcom

You could re-save it by just clicking "save as" and then template on the file selection.
