So I copied a letter from someone and they did alot of double/triple spaces inbetween words. I want to know how I can find all the sentences/words that have more then one space and replace them with one space.

The easiest way is to do a find and replace- Ctrl-H.

Search for 2 or three spaces and replace with one space. To search for a space, simply press the spacebar in either the find or replace box.

If you are only looking for the spaces between sentences, look for a period followed by 2 spaces and replace with a period followed by one space.

Use Advanced search. I just tried it on my MS Word 2010.

1. Press CTRL + F

2. Next to the find box is an icon with X, and next to it is drop down menu with \/ icon. Click that icon and select Advanced search.

3. Type two or three spaces or whatever you want and you can also check the option "highlight values" > "highlight all" so you can see what you find.

4. You probably want to replace multiple spaces with just one space so you go "Replace" on the top and to the field "replace with:" write one space. Then press Replace All several times until you see the phrase saying that the replacement did 0 changes.

Hope this helped. Have a nice day.

First, click on "Replace" through the edit menu in the "Home" tab, all the way on the right side of the document.

In the "find what" box, type in two spaces. In the "Replace with" box, type in a single space. Click "replace all." This will replace all the accidental double spaces with single spaces.

Repeat these actions for the accidental triple spaces as well.
