Hi i have an Acer 5735 laptop, had it for quite a while now and im quite confused.

When i go onto 'computer' from the start menu there are 2 things that come up, one is Acer (C:) and one is Acer (D:) The acer C (which i believe is where my docs pics etc get saved) is running low on memory and only has about 5 Gig left... But the Data D folder still has 62 GB left and it only had 69 to start with! So im just wondering if to free up disk space i can just save things to the Date (D:) folder instead.. also will having my C folder so full make programmes run slow? Thanks alot for your help.

Your (C:) partition contains your operating system, games and any other data that you save, your (D:) partition contains the `Recovery to factory Settings` data and I would not tinker with it unless you have another way (Recovery Disks) of restoring your computer in the event of problems (Blue Screen of Death for instance).

Hi.

EASEUS partition master. home edition (free)

http://www.partition-tool.com/

Easy to use drag " D" smaller then drag "C" into the newly available space.

Just a little warning , should any body suggest to merge drives C and D .

Do not do this on an Acer , pqservice the hidden recovery partition is tied to D any thing other than expanding C "with out data loss" will cause future restores with erecovery to fail.

C is your operating system partition, D is your data partition.

Things "get" saved to where you tell the program that's saving them to save them. Start saving to D.

As long as you have about 5GB free on C, you won't have any problems. But installing programs, even if you install them to D, will take some space on C. If you start to run under 5GB free on C, move some of your docs and pics from C to D.

For a not person-friendly force that huge, i am going to correctly anticipate that you've living house windows 7 if no longer Vista. Your force C grew to grow to be finished because you've been saving your information there even as they should be positioned in force D. bypass to force D and create a files, pictures, song and video clips folder. on the left facet of the navigation pane, lower than Libraries, properly click on files and choose homes. contain the files folder that you created in D. decide on it because the default keep region. you may want to then move the present contents of your files folder in C to D. you'll favor to attempt this for the pictures, song and video clips Folder. this can sparkling up distinct area from C. If in a while your force D will grow to be finished, you may want to reclaim some area of your force C and promises it to D with information from shrinking C and increasing D. that is done with the help of Disk administration option in living house windows 7. you may also use a third get mutually software like the Easeus Partition carry close to do it for you.
