Ubuntu and Mint boot relatively fast, the is Splashtop which is in the Bios from what I understand and boots from a couple of seconds to about 5 seconds. It will allow you to use the internet and I think you can even mount the hard drives. Splashtop is bundled with motherboards and cannot be installed though.

I twin boot with domicile windows Vista and PCLinuxOS 2009-a million the KDE version it rather is analogous to domicile windows in seems (Will boot as a LiveCd so which you would be able to verify it out). My pc is an HP Slimline own pc. I actual have not regretted it. i take advantage of Linux90% of the time and domicile windows 10% of the time. it rather is great once you hold the superb of the two worlds. Why settle for much less. I used Easeus Partition Magic (loose version) to divide my 500GB perplexing force in 0.5. One partition replaced into nevertheless my Vista, the 2d partition I set up for Linux, then boot the CD and put in it to the 2d partition regularly mentioned as sda2, domicile windows is seen sda1 in Linux. It plenty a Grub Menu that facilitates you to choose on which working equipment you go with for to run. Vista in the commencing up will throw a extra healthful yet will verify the perplexing force and calm down and then all of it works like it rather is think to. this does no longer ensue with domicile windows XP for some reason. superb of success.
