Question:
Zip file help ;-; please? ~?
2008-08-13 23:21:06 UTC
I dont know why, but my computer doesn't seem to recognize zip files anymore. No, I'm not low on space and yes I've tried the WinZip program (which didnt work, btw).

To explain EXACTLY what it does, it thinks that zip files are notepad files. Perhaps I accidently went in and changed some type of setting???

I've provided a screenshot of what it does so that someone with expertise in this area can better assist me.

Thank you ;~; <3

>>>1st type:

- right click on desktop > new > winzip file> enter (no need to rename).

- right click that file > open with > choose program...

- then select "winzip executable" (if you can't find it, try to browse in directory where the winzip is installed).

- check on "always use the selected program to open this kind of file", then click ok

- now try to download again.

2nd Type:

-reinstall winzip

-or download WINRAR at http://www.win-rar.com/download.html and install it then try the first way above with new > winrar archieve. then open with winrar archiever.

3rd Type:

[ still with winzip ]

- open start > programs > winzip > winzip

- open menu option > configuration

- open system tab > associations...

- check the "ZIP" file. then press OK

- now try to download again.

Right click the file in the windows explorer and then choose open with... then look for winzip. Or you can try downloading Winrar and use that to open zip files.

From looking at the picture are you trying to download a file as you have the option to save to disk if you save it to specified folder you will probably find winzip will open it it does not work until files are downloaded
