OK, so I pop the DVD into my computer. I know I have a dvd drive because it says 'dvd' on it.

Anyway, I get the main screen of the movie where it gives me the option to 'Play Movie'

The problem is, I get a message saying: "cannot render video. Please check your graphics drivers and ensure they support the latest version of direct X"

I tried updating my drivers (I have a nvidia 8800gt 1g) but it still doesn't work?

Try downloading VLC player, it plays pretty much anything, and is free. I don't think Direct X should have any impact on watching a DVD.

Try watching it with Windows Media Player. It might just be the program.

Check Windows Update and see if everything is up to date. Make sure you are using VLC video player. It's free and the best video player out there.

You tried updating your drivers...what does that mean? you tired and failed? Or you updated your drivers and it didn't help?
