Chances are they're write-protected (copyrighted, with a liscense someone agreed to, so you can't delete them). If it's a DVD-R, it can't be re-written at all, you will need to get another. DVD-Rs are relatively cheap, the rewritable kind (CD-RW) are a bit more expensive

Uh...wow. How to answer this?

I have to ask first...is this a recordable DVD disc? Second - If so, when it was written to was the session closed? If so, you cannot overwrite it.

Thirdly - Files are always "Read Only" on a CD or DVD. There is no "deleting" files from a DVD or CD, You MIGHT be able to overwrite them or format the disk IF the disc was not finalized already during a previous burn.

You cannot approach DVD's and CD's like a hard drive. Not the same animal.

Hope this helps.

Files cannot be deleted from a DVD unless said DVD is rewritable. DVD's work by "burning" the information onto the reflective surface of the disk.

You cannot delete any files on a DVD. On a DVD or CD the files are burned onto them. Once burned on it cannot be taken off, you can add other files on it, as if a movie.

You can not delete files out of a DVD. Once burned into it, nothing can remove them, unless you're talking about a ReWrite DVD, then you could burn another batch of files on top of the current one.

Most DVDs are entirely "read-only". Copy the files you want to keep to a new DVD, and snap the old one in half.

Just highlihgt and delete. Make sure the dvd is dvd-rw. If it's just a dvd-r you can't modify items on it.

You can not erase anything from a DVD since you didn't burn it multi-session
