If you have the XP installation disk, you can do a repair. If you successfully do a repair, you won't lose your programs or data.

In general you want to do a repair install and NOT use the repair console.

Detailed instructions for a repair install are here http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm He also describes how to create an XP disk with the service pack included easily.

If you can no longer do a repair install or find it too complicated, DO NOT reformat and reinstall as this will wipe you out and leave you with nothing but the operating system. You would have to reinstall all your programs and much of your data would be inaccessible.

Reimage can repair your system even if a repair install fails. It costs a little but it is well worth it to save your data. It takes about 30 minutes and preserves your programs and data. If you are not happy with the results, you don't have to pay and you can reverse any changes that it made. Dear T291,

Yes your system files are corrupted so you are getting this message. If you have same installation media through which you installed your existing corrupted windows, use that CD

Boot your System from CD ROM using Windows Installation media

Select Repaire option by pressing R key

After Command prompt coming type your administrator password (If you have)

Select 1:Windows (If you have one Operating System in ur system, if not select your operating System No i.e. 1 or 2 or 3)

now you will be redirected to command prompt in C:\

Now type chkdsk /r

Wait for mew minutes (It may take upto 1 hour, depending on your system configure)

After completing the same you will back again in command prompt

Now restart your system

All of your data will stay in save mode, nothing will be erased if you used this repaire option. If you format, you cant get any data, otherwise you have to recover all data using another Data recovery application

NTLDR is largely NT Loader which helps homestead windows beginning and it exists on your C: rigidity. in the time of primary operation it truly is hidden and could nicely be deleted in case you favor to, and pc works positive after deletion until eventually it truly is restarted. After Restarting pc will teach an mistakes 'NTLDR is lacking. Press any key to restart' and this mistake each now and then restarts the computing gadget or keeps to look. although, it truly is conceivable to fix yet you'll favor to operate yourHard diskk to a pc having Winxp it truly is operating positive and reproduction the NTLDR of that computing gadget yourPCss C: rigidity, once you're certain that it truly is the in undemanding words document corrupted on your pc. nicely, the above isn't that elementary and also you received't favor to accomplish that. So, yet another ingredient you may do is you could re-deploy homestead windows xp without formatting C: rigidity, you could make your ideas up on fix instead of sparkling installation. probability is that you'll lose my archives folder is you chosen format c:, as any such vast volume of human beings use the default area for My archives and that is C:. i imagine it truly is sparkling now, in case you format, it truly is will be deleted and in case you fix latest installation, they're going to be possibility-free. i desire it helps.

i suggest you have a basic windows XP.

you need to get a genuine copy so you can update it to XP service pack 3.

The service pack fixes this problem

you may have to get a file off another working computer to get yours to boot

If you can afford it buy an XP disk and run repair, put in your activation code. Look on ebay for a deal. Then run windows updates repeatably until no more updates left.
