Computer freezes up when I watch videos?

Whenever I watch something on windows media player, vlc player, classic media player, etc. my computer freezes. I can still watch things on Youtube or any other video hosting site (myspace, break.com etc.) What's wrong with my computer??

this is what i got from "My Computer"
AMD Athlon XP 2900+
2.00 GHz, 768 MB of RAM

oh and there are no viruses on my computer

it has nothing to do where you watch on the web, because the website takes care of the video, but maybe you have to much going on at once, or not enough space on your computer or RAM, because you have little ram, try deleting internet history, cookies, and temporary files, which all can be done by right clicking the internet icon and clicking properties. Or go to program files and delete empty files, because when a program is uninstalled, it keeps the folders, just deletes the content, and then empty the recycle bin, if that doesn't work, try CTRL ALT Delete and see what programs are running before you start, I know picture package and security scans make it lag, and try getting the latest codec for your player. It also may just be the file.

It COULD be the file you are trying to play, try some different ones.
