How do I move folders and files from my primary drive to the secondary one?

My primary drive is almost maxed out (I can't even defrag it!), so I want to move folders (pictures for one) and files to my second internal hard drive. I tried moving one picture folder but now I can't find it on the second drive.

You can't actually move files or folders to a different drive on a different cable, you have to copy and paste. If you use the use to "pick up" those items, they will only copy to the other drive, you then have to delete manually the original items but if Recycle Bin will not hold them then hold down the Shift key then Del to Delete permanently.
Make sure that what you want "move" is not system files or folders but only your own stuff.
If your Primary drive is less than 10% then you can only copy up to 500mb of files at any one time then you delete the original 500mb and move to the next lot. It takes a while but eventually you get the extra space. You might find that you have to move less volume if your free space is less than 5% on the Primary drive.
Your second drive would also have to have more than 10% free space to be a Target drive. The reason the Picture folder did not copy to the secondary drive was that it was more than 500mb
volume.
You might have to use Safe Mode so that drivers are not loaded into memory, as some memory is taken from the hard drive free space.

Check the integrity of your second drive. If it is defective or full of bad sectors, a condition such as what you just described happen.

Are you sure that you moved it correctly?
Try again with a quick copy and paste maneuver..
