well im missing about half of my music files and i dont know why. it seems that half of my music files that weren't in seperate folders have disappeared, and its only the songs named with letters A-K that have disappeared and i dont know why

it was in a normal computer file.

before this, i was putting some movies onto my computer and i ran out of diksk space, so i compressed some files and deleted temporary internet files, offline web pages, downloaded program files, Microsoft Error Reporting temporary files, the recycle bin, Temporary files and I compressed Old Files.

My music was in a normal folder and after i cleaned up my diskspace, all the A-K music has gone. and then when i went on windows media player to try and listen to it, it said:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available.

then when i clicked on a few mopre and it said that, a box ccame up and like automatically deleted all the ones that DID NOT work. but it still kept some in the library that started with the letters A-K and some of them still work. But all the rest from A-K were deleted.

umm
how can i get the music files back and what happened to them?

not to sure. you can always look up in your finder.. search for a song you are missing and if it is not there then more then likely they will all have gone but if one of the songs you are missing is there then the others will most likely be there too

also your seccond option would be to check the trash bin

i hope you find it all

If you're not able to find the files using search, try this free program to recover deleted items:
