CACHE-HOW DO I EMPTY IT?

Question

Can someone please tell me how to empty my cache and what is it?Im not very computer literate so a simple way would be great.Thanks

Generally, the cache you can empty (there are some others you can't) is your Internet browser's cache.



In Mozilla Firefox:



1. Click the Tools->Options menu item.

2. Click the Advanced page.

3. Click the Network tab.

4. Click the Clear Now button.



In Internet Explorer 6:



1. Click the Tools->Internet Options menu item.

2. Click the Delete Files button.

3. Click Yes.



In Internet Explorer 7:



1. Click the Tools->Internet Options menu item.

2. Click the Delete button.

3. Click the Delete Files button.

4. Click Yes.

All of these are good answers but another thing you can do (which will not only clean your cache but it will clear temp files recycle bin cookies history ect.. to many wonderful things to name, which also has a windows registry key fixer) is CCleaner its a freeware program developed by piriform and its a powerful yet extremely easy to use tool. In internet explorer click on tools then delete browsing history. You will be able to select what you want to delete. the temp files, and cookies are the cache.

If your using an xp go to the start menu and to the right it should say 'run'. Click on that and a little box should come up at the bottom left hand-side of the screen. Type in %temp%. A folder with a whole bunch of stuff will come up. Highlight all of it and delet it. Thats how you clear it. If you have a vista, search in the search box 'run', click on it,and a little box should come up at the bottom left hand-side of the screen. Type in %temp%. Firefox : Tools - clear private data (or for new versions "clear recent history")



IE is kinda the same... Tools, internet options, history... etc.



Cache is nothing really, just kind of a recent history of what you have done. I clear them all the time.
