Now im not sure if this is the correct cause of why i started havin the BSOD but it is very likely. It was a few weeks ago and what i can remember was i downloaded a driver update on the internet thinking it would make my game run smoother. Well a day or two later the computer would freeze whenever i shutted down or logged off of my computer/user and send me to a blue screen with errors saying i might need to uninstall any recently installed software or hardware. The only thing i remember installin was a windows update and the driver update, which i did go and try to uninstall it, but everytime i'd start up the computer again it would reinstall it immediately, and i dont know how to roll back the driver because that option is unavailable. I'd like to say i've done a lot of research about this problem even though most of it was too complicated for me to comprehend, too many steps etc. One possible solution i found good was the system restore, but that option seems to be taken off too because it wont allow me to restore to BEFORE this inciden happen. So my questions are is there any way i could restore to a later date than what the system restoration gives me? Also, i think this'll be good information to tell you, the error seems to be from a file called ntokrnl.exe and another one athxx.exe or somethig like that. I deleted those files but it didnt work. Also the error it gives me during he blue screen is 0x000000F4 is there any way you guys can help me? This has been stressing me out a lot lately. But another possible solution is to disable the memory bios like it suggested me to do, the only problem is i dont know how to get there. Can some tell me how to get there and what to do after? i know its a different keystroke for everyone but can you please post a picture of what it looks like so I know that i gotten there whenever i do get there? Or is there any free program i can download to fix this issue? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. hmongsoulja09@yahoo.com

Restoring it back to last know good configuration.

When you press the power button, start tapping the F8 key. You will get advance boot options, use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked), and then press ENTER.

This is what the screen should look like

Windows Advanced Options Menu

Please select an option:

Safe Mode

Safe Mode with Networking

Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Enable Boot Logging

Enable VGA mode

Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)

Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)

Debugging Mode

Start Windows Normally

Reboot

Return to OS Choices Menu

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.

If that does not work and you want to reset it back to factory settings the info below will help.

Since you did not list the make and mode, this is a generic answer. Some or all of it might help you.

Make sure you back up all your files before doing this.

If your resetting a lappy, make sure you have the AC adapter plugged up. You do not want this process interrupted. This should take one or two hours. It is best to check on it to make sure everything is going fine.

If you can boot into Windows, click on start and then open your control panel. Then click System and Security. Under Action Center click Restore your computer to an earlier date. Then click on Advance recovery and select return computer to factory conditions. Answer any question and the system should reboot. Answer a few more questions and then it should go on autopilot and reset your system back to factory conditions.

If you can not boot into Windows then try Advanced boot options. When you press the power button, start tapping the F8 key. You will see the advance boot menu. Select repair your computer. (This option is available only if the tools are installed on your computer's hard disk.) Select your language and then enter your user name and password. Then click on (brand name) factory Image Restore and next. Answer the question and it should start the recovery back to factory settings.

Recovery from the recovery partition

When you press the power button start tapping the F key for your puter and the BIOS menu will open. Select recovery from the menu, answer the question and the recovery should begin. Depending on your puter this will take one to two hours.

Manufacturers BIOS menu F key

HP/Compaq ESC

ASUS Del

Sony F2

Samsung F4

Gateway, eMachines F10

Acer, Dell, Fijitsu, Gigabyte, Toshiba F12

Your BIOS menu should look something like this. Yours might be different. I am posting this to give you an idea of what it looks like.

ESC = BIOS menu

F1 = System Info

F2 = System Diagnostic

F9 = Boot Device options

F10 = BIOS Setup

F11 = System recovery

Im guessing this is a windows system right? If so, when the computer is starting up, the first screen you see with the loading symbol should say a few things at the bottom. One of those should say system preferences or something close to that. Once you find what key to press, restart; and in the moment its on that screen, press that key until the bios shows up. From there you should be able to access the memory. As for your issue, it sounds like you may have a virus. Do you have an anti-virus software installed?

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.
