How to install Ubuntu Server 8.10 on RAID 5 configured IBM X2400 server?

Question

I'm using IBM X2400 & X3400 servers configured in RAID 5, can anybody guide me to install Ubuntu Server 8.10 o.s. by keeping RAID 5 configuration as it is?

if it is hardware raid it should be transparent to the os and it is done in a set up menu before Bios even posts



if it is software raid try doing it in the LVM logical volume manager when you install this comes up when your partitioning there are two choices Partion based and LVM
