in many situations, "memory" refers to what's noted as RAM; and "storage" refers to complicated disk area. (in spite of the actuality that, to be thoroughly precise, RAM is likewise storage, yet this is a digression). a million. RAM is used via pc purposes to **temporarily** carry suggestion that would desire to be accessed very, very at as quickly as. case in point, once you open Microsoft be conscious and information superhighway Explorer on an identical time, they each commandeer a definite volume of RAM to hold products of suggestion. As a primitive occasion, be conscious will carry each paragraph of text fabric interior the record you have opened. That way, once you scroll up and down the record, be conscious would not consistently load the document repeatedly ... this is already being held interior the very rapid RAM "memory". once you turn off your pc, each thing in RAM is lost. 2. complicated disk area is used to hold unquestionably information (the be conscious record you typed). this is saved there till you purposely delete it. So your music, your photos, your courses, your video games are all saved on the complicated disk. once you open a record in Microsoft be conscious, this is first loaded off the complicated stress; then located interior the fast "memory" (RAM). once you shut Microsoft be conscious, the record is returned saved to the complicated stress, and now no longer saved interior the fast memory. That memory area is freed up for different courses to apply. oftentimes speaking, including RAM ("memory") will make your pc quicker -- quite the extra courses you run at as quickly as. this is because of the fact each application demands a collection of "memory" and in case you run out, then the pc performs somewhat a trick -- it asks the complicated disk to pretend to be memory. inspite of the undeniable fact that, the complicated disk is a lot slower, so in turn your pc runs slower. including "storage" (complicated disk area), on the different hand, will advance the quantity of music, photos, movies, video games which you have saved on your pc.

Storage and Memory are essentially the same thing to be honest, but the meanings have evolved over time.

Storage is actually a form of memory. But in context, refers to somewhere where you save files like documents and music.

Memory refers to RAM. RAM is where files are temporarily stored when software is in use.

Memory or RAM (Random access memory) is mainly for programs and OS (operating systems) ie. Windows, mac, and Linux. But it really won't effect speed. I have if you game the recommended is 8 gb ddr3 If you browse the Internet and go on social media sites ect. 2-4 gb ddr3. I what effects the speed is mostly the processed and the graphics card (cpu and gpu).

storage is how big the hard drive is, how much data you can have on the pc. memory is RAM which stores data just recently used by the processor and data that will be used. memory does affect how fast the computer runs. hard dive can be as big as you want but with memory for a decent computer you should have at least 4gb, 8 if you want to do gaming
