I have never had the blue screen of death before until about 3 months ago. I didn't think anything of it at first, because my computer just shut down, I booted it back up, everything was A-Okay. well about a month later, my computer was in sleep mode, and I come back to the computer and it had turned off. I rebooted and it said in the error log "Event Name: Blue Screen". I accidentally hit OK and didn't get to read anything else. So yesterday morning I woke up and went to check on the computer and it was off AGAIN after I told it to go into sleep mode. I read the event log and sure enough it said "Event Name: Blue Screen".

It listed other things, a lot of numbers and codes, but it doesnt give me a real error, it just says "Windows Has Recovered From An Unexpected Shut Down" then lists everything.

I can list everything in the log, but if i dont need to, I wont.

Also, this is a computer that I built, so it was a fresh install of windows, it was built in June and I've encountered this issue about 3 times now.

any ideas on whats wrong or how to fix it? Thanks!!!!

There can be many problems to cause this.. The two most common problems I have faced would be a trojan virus and outdated software, devices.. I suggest before you do anything to get AVG Free or another computer scanner and scan whole computer for a virus then you may want to get a registry scanner to check for registry problems in your computer. If this all comes up clean then remove any programs you dont need anymore and update all your drivers and software..

Best of luck!

Outdated drivers, incompatible software. I suggest you update everything you can and uninstall everything you don't need. My first fresh computer gave me BSOD for the first few months before I got everything sorted out and then it performed admirably. My second fresh computer has never given me any problems.
