Question:
What are some different ways to remove unused computer programs?

First off, I am pretty computer illiterate so please bear with me. I am running Windows XP and am trying to remove a game that was installed but I don't ever use. Windows estimates it to use 803MB. When I go through the "add or remove programs" function through Windows the program shows up on the list but can not be found for the removal process. Is there another way to delete the program?

Thanks to all who answer.

Here are two things you can do to speed up. First, go to Control Panel and click on Add remove programs. Look for any programs you dont use, and if you are sure you dont need them, get rid of em. Second, Click on the Start button, and then Click on the Run option. In the box, type in MSCONFIG. When the new window opens, click the STARTUP tab. Uncheck all the boxes and reboot your computer. This will disable every program you have from loading in to memory when windows boots. This does NOT mean you cant use them, it just means it wont load automatically. Good luck D@N

You can delete the folder in the C:\Program Files directory, accessible via 'My Computer'. Just be careful not to delete something important.
