sounds to me that your harddrive has either crashed or has lost power' I would get a piece of hose and put it against the side and restart comp and listen to see if you can hear the hard drive start up. if it does restart and hold down the F8 key all the time it boots up it will take you to a page up to near the top click on start in safe mode if it boots up and takes you to a black screen with desktop icons on it your hard drive is good and it booted all the way up if not your drive is not working at all recheck the ribon make sure it is seated in good check the power plug is fully in then restart if not working re install o/s if your drive is not reading it will tell you it is not reading your drive so replace and punt

This is the number one reason for a computer to crash. The files in your registry contain instructions for every program and application in your computer. When they become corrupted with errors or go missing, the computer will have a hard time running the programs, and crash as a result. It is highly recommended that you do not attempt to fix the registry yourself. The first thing you should do is to download a registry cleaner software and do a free scan on your computer.I should like to commend Registry Easy http://cleanup-comuter-run-perfectly.com to you ! The software will automatically detect all the known errors and missing entries, and then repair and restore them so you can have your computer running like new again. You can try ! Good luck!

You've got multiple computers or a handheld i bet.. or someone elses, but back to the main point. You just need to get and operating system cd (OS) depending on what yours came with or what your computer can run that works for you. JUST IN CASE an OS cd is something such as vista, mac, XP, or something. Insert system disc means ur computer's OS has been effed

Hiren's boot cd. If you don't want to lose info. then try that. However, if you have restore disks and don't mind losing info. then go for that.Seriously...you may find options better for you in the first. Good luck.

You have to reset the BIOS (setup) to boot from the CD before the hard drive. Then try it again.
