I am trying to change the game name files of League of Legends files so that they won't come up if somebody searches "lol" into the file searching thing.

No; it'll completely break the game. The program doesn't know you changed the file names, and it will try to find the files under the old names (which no longer exist).

It's not performance that you'll ruin but the game itself. A shortcut on your desktop called League of Legends.exe (shortcut has the little arrow in it's icon) isn't the game file at all, so renaming that is okay. But searching LoL will still bring up results. Why? Because that shortcut calls on a file called LagueofLegends.exe (at least I assume it's that but very likely it is) located in the program files folder ron your hard drive, in the Riot Games folder. You CAN go in there and rename the League of Legends.exe to DefinetlyNotBlank.exe and then searching League shouldn't bring up anything (give it time to refresh it could take a while). If it brings up something it's either the orginal download installation or the shortcut. Delete those. Then make a new shortcut. Right click the DefinetlyNotBlank.exe and click shortcut then drag the new shortcut to your desktop or wherever. The problems this causes though are other things that may want to access League game files such as that Patcher (I do believe it's a separate file) and LoLReplay if you have that (a recording software for league of legends). There would be no way to change those so my renaming the file, other things wont be able to find it and you can mess up a lot of things.
A better idea would be to disabling searching alltogether. I don't quite remember how but just google it. You need to know you way around your computer without the search though if your going to do that. ANOTHER THING YOU CAN TRY:
Find the Riot Games folder in the program files folder (probably in Program files x86) then right click it. Select properties at the bottom of the list. In the first page of the properties, click advanced. Uncheck the box for indexing. This would be the safest way, and I don't believe it will mess anything up. All it does is delete the records of that folder form the Windows Index so when you search it wont come up. BUT IT STILL CAN BE SEARCHED. If you go to you hard drive then search in the top search bar it does a "deep search" that will check everything right on the spot instead of just going through indexes. It'll take maybe a minute to search if you have a ton of files but nonetheless it can be found. Other then that though it shouldn't mess up anything. You will also have to either uncheck the indexing for you downloaded installation/shortcut or just delete those files. (I recommend putting the shortcut, unindexed, in a hidden folder where you can open it whenever needed but delete your download of the installation files since you don't need that anymore)

No it wont affect the performance..you can change the main exe file to any name you want but if you change names of other files, game will not work
