Meaning of 'CRC Mismatch'? Can't decompress RAR files?

Good day, computerizing friends.

I have just spent three days downloading a documentary from MechoDownload. It appears to be archived parts, in RAR.

Now I can't decompress the silly basket.

I start decompressing the first one, and the process is interrupted:

ERROR - CRC MISMATCH

Does this mean that one of the parts did not come down the chute the way it's supposed to?
Or do I have the wrong program, or computer, or what?

CRC is also known as a checksum. The archive has an expected checksum value stored in the file and the RAR decompresser calculates the value from the complete file. If the two values are not identical you get the above error. What that means is that something went wrong during the transfer and at least one of your rar files is defective and needs to be downloaded again.

if your files are not downloaded properly or it is corrupt this error is generated.

it means that the file(s) you downloaded weren't downloaded exactly, which seems strange but it does and will happen.
