i hope this helps, even though i am not a expert, if u are talkin about, putting music/photos on cd disc, u have to have a cd burner/rewriter to do that, u would click on the burner and try to follow directions, u would need blank cds to that, audio cd for music cd and regular blank cd for photo which is data..... now if u are talkin about, c drive.. disc or d drive disc which mostly likely u talking about the harddrive, then if are downloadin music from internet, u have a choice where to send it c drive or d drive, or if u stick a cd in the cd rom, and it has music or photo on them u would hightight the item u want to copy and hit copy and send to c or d, let me clear this up, if u have a c and d disc u probably have 2 harddrives in computer, one master, the other slave, now rememer if have music on it is better to let windows media player to rip the music and send to your music documents or c drive or d drive, u will notice c drive and possible d drive when u clik on my compuer other questions email me directly at welchhog@yahoo.com

Right!, let's start at the end.

I'm surprised that you have drives A: and B: because they were usually used for floppy drives. Normally it's C: and D: with the CD/DVD being E:

There isn't two physical drives, It's one disk with two partitions, one is the one that the operating system will be on and the other is probably for other files.

If you go to 'Start', 'My Computer' and Right Click the mouse over one of the drives, then select 'Properties' you will get a display that shows how much space is used and how much is free. This will tell you how 'full' the drives are.

If you want to transfer your music and photos, you may be better off getting an external hard drive, which plugs into a USB port (and will probably become drive F:). You can then 'move' or 'copy' the files to that in 'My Computer'.

If you 'move' them they will be taken off your initial drive when you do that, if you 'copy' them they will be duplicated and then you can delete them from the original drive. (My personal preference is to copy them, then check they are there and finally delete the originals.

I hope this makes sense, good luck

Use an external hard drive. Trust me, its a LOT easier and a LOT safer and a LOT more convenient when trying to retrieve those files again =] you're gonna need like 30 DVDs to back up a decent amount of files, supposing you use you're computer regularly for working etc. hope i've helped lol, even though it aint the answer to your question :P
