I came across this folder containing a lot of screenshots. I dont remember taking these many screen shots or storing them in this folder. Can anyone explain why windows is taking screenshots?
The folder is :
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssdata\scrdata

ssdata\scrdata is not a folder created by windows. that is by some program or virus. may be your computer is spyed or have some dangerous software. they may took this screenshot and send it to someone.

Dude, there is key named "Print screen SysRq" in your keyboard that when pressed takes the screenshot and if I m not mistaken, you must have pressed that key unknowingly. I think that it the reson behind those screenshots..

That is a screen saver file. It would appear you have used images for a screen saver and thus that folder was created.
It has other meanings, but they do not fit your inquiry.

This seems to be, possibly, a keylogger or 007 trojan.
