Mozilla Firefox vs. Opera 10.0 Browser. Which is faster and more realiable?

Question

I know for one thing that ALL Internet browsers have flaws. But Internet Explorer has the most flaws of all Internet browsers I've ever tested out.

History of me using both browsers: Firefox for 4 years. Opera the last 4 years.

I've come to like Opera much better than Firefox. Why? Because its got a very small footprint on your system, and runs faster than other browsers without eating your system memory and MUCH MUCH safer than Firefox.

Your opinions?

TO JEFF: I've used Opera for well over 4 years. And it has a dictionary mode as well. Unlike the "first" time I used Wikipedia, Opera did NOT need me to install all the missing plug-ins for certain websites (Youtube, Metacafe, etc.) Plus speed dial is probably the most useful thing you could ever use instead of using the address bar.



Opera is actually much much faster. Firefox is super lagging if you have more than one tab. Even if you have a fast processor.

Firefox is faster and better than Opera. I have used opera only for a few months but Mozilla I have been using for nearly 5 years.



Firefox is better for social network sites like facebook and twitter and other MAJOR sites like Wikipedia and others .Opera is better for some minor sites. Firefox reads Java scripts better than Opera and also has a dictionary mode which will help you correct if you have made a mistake.

Isn't Opera closed source? That disqualifies it for me. Although it is not a bad browser, Firefox seems to have way more enhancements.



But I use lynx, a lot of the time...:) Or w3m from emacs.



EDIT: And oh yes, IE is the worst of the worst. But then, most Microsloth products are...

Personally, I like Firefox. But I have never tried Opera for a long time like you. Only for like a few weeks. Although while I was using opera it was pretty good.



Opera 6.5 out of 10

Firefox 10 out of 10 (never had the slightest problem with it)

IE=Sucks (constant Problems)

I always Mozilla Firefox cuz its faster than other browsers and if it freezes everything gets back restored

i use both, it just depends on what im doing

if im searching for info and will open a lot of pages, ill use opera.

when i feel like playing web based video, ill use firefox, just for the reason that i can get a plug in for it that allows me to download and save anything i watch

i think not.



IE is the safest and most reliable web browser your ever going to get.



you just have to learn how to set it up properly.



forget all that firefox crap just learn to use what you have got.
