I turn on my REALLY OLD computer and the screen stays black and the computer makes a noise like 'BEEEEEEEP - BEEP - BEEP'..

What might be the problem?
Is there ANY way I could get my computer work FAST without taking it to repair. The LAST season of Big Brother UK is starting to end already and I REALLLY can't miss it. It's not shown in TV in my country so I really need my computer to watch it!
PLEASE help!

It's either the RAM or the Graphics. Particularely if it's 3 beeps.

Open the computer and take off the memory stick and put it back. Sometimes if the computer moves, it causes that.

Same thing with the graphic card.

Best luck

The beeping you hear is the "beep codes" that all computers have. These beeps indicate there's a problem with your computer. You can go online and search your computer brand for the beep codes to see what the problem is, or take it to a computer repair shop and have them analyze these codes. There are a dozen codes for each computer, so if your in a hurry, get it to an expert if you want it repaired quickly. Good luck.

it sounds like POST error beeps. without knowing what kind of computer or the beeps wether long or short and in what order it is gonna be tough to determine what it means.

If it's really 1 long, two short, it's a video adapter problem and it's an IBM. If not, check at http://www.technick.net/public/code/cp_dpage.php?aiocp_dp=guide_beep_codes for whatever actual beel pattern you're getting.
