Help, I just reformatted my computer and now I can't print?

My computer initially was using Windows XP when it suddenly blanked out. Before this my computer did not have Microsoft Office 7 so I was using Office Writer.

Then it blanked out one day so I sent it to the computer technician to reformat it to Windows 7,with features like Microsoft 2007 and now my printer is not printing my documents 100 % like it used to, all the files are compressed into 25% of the page.

I just called my technician and he said that my printer driver does not support Windows 7, so that is why it is not printing properly. My printer is a Canon PIXMA iP 6000D.

He recommended that I reformat my PC back again to Windows 7 so that I can print normally again.
I did not want to reformat my computer again when I had just reformat it a week ago so I told him I will call him again.
I went online to Canon.com but I can't find a Printer driver that supports Windows 7.

What should I do?
I need my printer to print documents urgently.

I answered this question in your other posting for it, but try this website. I found it using a Google search:

You should be able to find a driver to operate your printer. The Canon PIXMA iP 6000D should be supportable in Windows 7.

Try going to your printers manufacturer's website and see if they offer a driver download for windows 7. You will need to know the model of your printer. If they do not support it you may have to purchase a new printer.

I too upgraded to windows 7 and luckily I had two scanners because one of them is not supported in Windows 7.

Hopefully they will have a driver that will work.

The technician to my understanding is wrong as I found support for windows 7 on the actual cannon website.

That is the website where I have actually seen it on, just select your own and download the software and driver which they provide.

try having windows search for the driver. most drivers supported by previous windows programs are available for use in 7.

There are embedded systems (sp1). Read up about it and see if this won't work for you.

If it's urgent, do it at the library. or put the files on a flash drive or disc and take it to Walgreens, Walmart or Staples, etc. to print.
