It is when your boot disc fails!

Or the system BIOS cannot read the FAT, (file allocation table), from your hard drive.

Check the BIOS, press delete at the black start up screen.

And look for,- restore defaults.

That should put it right.

Disc boot failure is the pc telling you it cannot find the files it needs to have in order to run the operating system it is looking to find (usually on the hard drive).

This can happen when files get corrupted, or files have been erased, or the hardware the files are on is failing/crashing, or it could just be that the computer missed one file it was looking for...

Try rebooting the computer. Did that work?? If not, you might have to try re-installing your operating system (WIndows??). That fixes the problem most of time.

If it doesn't, take the pc to a repair shop and have them diagnose it. If they can tell you how you can fix it, do so. If they have to, then pay them. Without a bootable operating system, you cannot use your computer...

Ive found that numerous viruses can cause this problem, I would recommend that you reformat your hard drive then reinstall your operating system, just to be on the safe side.
