Question:
I'm writing in Word 2003, and whenever I go back to add something each new character deletes the one after it?

Like if I had this: "Hi I'm sentence"
and I wanted to go back and fix it by adding 'a' it would look like "Hi I'm aentence" even though I didn't delete the s.

How do I stop it?

There is a button on your keyboard labelled "Insert". Press it once. The purpose of the button is to toggle between inserting characters when you edit vs. overwriting characters when you edit.

hehehehehe

all you have to do is this.

1...locate insret key on your keyboard and press it. This key is used when you need to replace an alphabet with another alphabet without using backspace. re pressing it takes you off this over write mode.

2..next enjoy your ms word experience.

hope it helps (it definitely will as much as i can predict)

cheers

Press the Insert key. You're in Overwrite (OVR) mode, you want to be in Insert (INS) mode.
