Question:
How can I find an image online if all I have is the image itself--no filename?

Is that possible? I have an image which someone sourced for me about 8 months ago which was renamed because the name was too long or difficult to remember. The original file (with original name) was lost in a computer crash. Now I'm stuck with an image I can't use (but need to) because I haven't bought it yet. Is there a way to upload the image online and run some sort of image recognition software on it in order to locate it on 'da interwebz'?

Easy, tineye.com! You can either upload an image or use a url to search for it.

Can't you get in touch with the person who sourced it for you and ask them where they got it from. It would be a good start and would narrow things down an awful lot.
